In 2008 Steve was named as the fifty-third most well-to-do in America by Forbes Magazine, all the same it is his phenomenal success in the business and finance world and also his donations to education and the arts that set this man apart. This Blackstone Group financial giant is a marvelous role model and further proof that success in life can be attained by working hard and being truly committed to your business.

In the 1980’s he co-founded the Blackstone Group with his business partner Peter Peterson, to start with it was a private-equity management and financial advisory company. At this point in time the Blackstone Group is an industry giant with holdings as variegated as The Weather Channel and American Axle.

Steve spent his childhood years in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Then he went on to graduate from Yale University in 1969. Harvard Business School near Boston, Massachusetts was the natural next step in his education, where he graduated in 1972. Afterwards he became part of the team at the illustrious investment bank Lehman Brothers. Stephen was assigned the title of managing director at the very young age of only thirty-one.

Steve Schwarzman served as an assistant professor at the elevated Yale School of Management as well as offering his patronage to a number of charities, education, and the arts. Beyond this, he is the most recently appointed Chairman to the Board of Trustees of the JFK Center for the Performing Arts. In addition, he proudly announced on March 11th, 2008 that he had donated $100 million to the New York Public Library to help finance their expansion. He also serves the library as a trustee.

Steve is nowadays a role model for a new generation of business people: As one of Times Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, Steve is these days widely followed by the papers and affecting markets on an international scale.
