IPhone May Let Players Take Poker Mobile

With the release of the new iPhone 3G(S), poker players are in an uproar over the high powered casino applications that are and may soon become available. With 3G intenet speeds, it makes possible the application of the iPhone to be able to support a host of clients to play in real time for real money. If you look at the Cake online poker network, you can see that they already have a client that lets you run their skins from the Windows Mobile OS on smart phones. It’s just a matter of time before the iPhone may get the same kind of treatment. Not only that, but several sites are allowing for iphone users to access their sites and play flashed based poker, such as Pitbull, and Deuces Cracked allows members to access training videos directly from the phone. Some apps are already available, such as poker cruncher (basically the iPhone version of pokerstove), and Hold ‘Em Odds Quizzer, which lets players test their knowledge of odds in various situations both post and preflop. And rumor has it this won’t be exclusive to AT&T for long. In 2010, Big Red (Verizon Wireless) and Apple have been talking about releasing the iPhone on their network as a competitor to the Blackberry smartphone line they currently offer. Now if we could only get Research in Motion (the producers of blackberry) to open up their OS to support online poker, we’d have it made as both recreational and professional players alike as far as portability of our games go.
